Welcome in La Rochelle, in our Bamp;B “Les clés du large”, for a short or longer stay, any time of the year. We are located 1,5 mile from the very center of the city and from “The Old Harbour”, and 2 miles from the modern marina and beach “Les Minimes”.
From “Les clés du large”, you can easily walk, drive or cycle to any place in town. A bus ( N° 7) can also pick you up very close to our place. It’s a 10 mn drive to the heart of the city.
After visiting the medieval towers and wandering in the arch covered streets and along the wharves in the Old Harbour, you will certainly enjoy the surroundings : the famous Ré, Aix and Oléron islands, Fort Boyard, the so-called “Green Venice” Marais Poitevin. You may also practice water sports, golfing, horse-riding, cycling and discover the local gastronomy : seafood, fresh fish, Pineau, “galette charentaise” (local butter shortbread).
